After Redwood Park Church moved to its new location on Redwood Avenue, God had plans for the old building. Instead of selling it, which made the most financial sense, the Lord prompted leadership to keep the building and use it to serve the poor, the addicted, the discouraged, the hungry, and those needing clothes in Thunder Bay. The primary goal of the Opportunities Centre is to meet people’s needs through God’s transforming love. The building was renamed the Redwood Park Opportunities Centre in January 2005. Since then it has become Redwood's main hub for ministry to people in need.

Currently, we run a food bank which serves hundreds of families each month. We also operate a used clothing store called Threads, where we sell clothing at very affordable prices, with some of the proceeds going to cover food bank costs.

We also run various recovery support groups from time to time. The Opportunities Centre ministries strive to show Christ’s love in our community.
